Ever had those days where you look in the mirror and get sad at your physical appearance? Because same lol…
I had these exact feelings where I would constantly compare myself to others and start feeling bad about myself.
Honestly, those feelings are completely normal! But I’ve learned that as much as I don’t like this idea but still physical appearance goes a long way and people really judge you based on your looks.
However, IT ISN’T ALWAYS ABOUT OTHERS.
Taking care of yourself and investing in your physical appearance really helps to alleviate your confidence. When you feel beautiful yourself, other’s opinions about you stop mattering.
It can be as simple as staying hydrated and minding your own business but let’s be real here…you’ve probably heard this a 1000 times and want some other tips right?!
Well, you are exactly in the right place!! Follow along with these tips and apply whichever ones you like. You would really like them:)
Start with your face
Okay now, what is the first thing that you notice when you see the mirror? Well, your face duh!! Face stands out the most and that’s why I believe that you should start with your face in your journey of looking pretty.
1. Take out time for Skincare
On the topic of face, how can we forget skin? Good-looking clear skin definitely appears to be more attractive to the eye.
Did I mention that there is nothing wrong with having big pores or blackheads and you are beautiful the way you are!!
But if you want to start your skincare journey, I’d advise you to build a simple skincare routine that you can use every day. Your skin will thank you for all that extra love and care.

2. Do your Brows
Moving on, did you know that brows are the most important feature on our face. No like seriously, they really frame our entire face.
If brows don’t look good enough, the rest of the makeup or outfit looks incomplete.
A life hack to having good eyebrows in getting them in the shape that fits your face shape the best.
Instagram brows look good but really they are not for everyone just like extremely thin brows.

3. Play with some Makeup
Makeup is fun and doesn’t hurt anyone so why not give it a shot? Even if you’re a light to no makeup person, you have to agree that it can really transform your entire look!
Confession: Personally, I used to avoid wearing makeup because every time I wore it, I would put on really heavy makeup which basically made me look a completely different person.
Then, whenever I took it off, I felt really really conscious and insecure about my natural face. Talk about body dysmorphia ha!
It took me a long time to accept my natural face but now I don’t mind wearing a little makeup to enhance my look.
Although there is nothing wrong with heavy makeup, I just realized that it wasn’t for me and I prefer natural-looking makeup which makes my skin glowy.
My favorite makeup product is definitely Glossier’s cloud paint. This liquid blush is really pigmented so I use it all over my cheeks, eyelids, and on top of my lip balm to get that beautiful monochromatic look.
You can also add a coat of mascara and a little highlighter on the cheekbones to look glowy and put together🤪
4. Do some Facial Exercise
Ok now I don’t know if you’ve heard about face yoga or not, but it is really a game-changer. I just discovered it last year while binge-watching Youtube videos and I’ve been hooked ever since.
They are basically different facial exercises for different parts of the face like for eye bags, double chin, jawline, etc.
I started doing some jawline exercises a few months ago and noticed a visible difference. My face was more sculpted.
It takes some time to see the results but it’s definitely worth it.

Meowing: This is also another cool theory that I think everyone should know about.
The concept is that the position of the tongue should be against the roof of the mouth at all times.
You say the word “sing” and put your tongue at the roof of your mouth at the “-ng” sound. Teeth should be on top of each other and the mouth should be closed.
It helps for nose breathing, snoring, and defines your jawline & cheekbones over time which in turn makes your face slimmer.
5. Take care of your lips
Lips are such a beautiful and delicate feature of our face. They add so much softness and elegance to our look so why not take care of them.
And let’s be honest here… no one likes flaky, chapped lips right?! So, always wear a chapstick to keep them moisturized.
Pro tip📌: Scrub your lips with honey and sugar to remove dead skin and then apply a lip mask on the lips before going to bed to wake up to baby soft lips.
6. Keep your teeth clean
So far we discussed skin, makeup, facial exercise, and lips but do you know that smile relieves stress and is the best thing that you can wear. for real!!
But having unclean teeth can make you hesitant to smile or make you cover your mouth while laughing in front of others. So in simple words:
Clean teeth = good smile = confident = attractive
The most no-nonsense way to have clean teeth is by flossing, brushing your teeth twice a day, and religiously using a mouthwash daily.

7. Show some love to your hair
You know that feeling when you put an entire hour to get ready and look pretty but your hair just doesn’t cooperate with you. That is another level of annoyance which I think most of us can relate to.
Hair plays such an essential role in making you look pretty and put together so shower it some love and it will definitely save you in your bad days.
It all starts with getting a good haircut and then using your fav shampoo and conditioner to take care of it.
If you’re not sure about what haircut you should get, just ask your salon to give one layer so your hair can frame your face. It looks good on almost everyone so you can’t go wrong with it😉

You can also make a DIY hair mask at home to grow hair and add shine to it.
All you have to do is beat a few eggs until the egg white and yolk is blended properly.
Then gently massage it on your hair and scalp and leave for 20 minutes. Then rinse it off with water. Eggs are rich in protein so they increase hair growth and make your hair healthy.
Take care of your body
8. Smell good all day
How many of us love it when someone smells like a snack and make us turn heads? Pretty sure everyone!
People are more inclined towards those who smell good and naturally find them more appealing and refreshing.
No one likes being in the company of someone who smells like trash or has a heavy odor. It’s just very unattractive and hard to bear. So take proper care of your hygiene and wear your fav scent to rock your day.
Find an uncommon scent that matches your body and make it your signature scent. Others will perceive you as attractive just by your smell.
Baccarat Rouge is hands down my fav fragrance. It smells heavenly and is perfect for most occassions. A bit pricey but so worth it!
9. Do a lovely manicure
Having your nails done alone can make you feel like you have everything together. They make your hands look charming and what not?
You don’t need to go to a nail salon if you don’t want to. At home, just trim and file them in your desired shape and put your favorite gel nail polish, and call it a day:)
I usually go for a french manicure because it goes with everything.
If you feel like doing something more, then put some cuticle oil on your nails to protect them.

10. Correct your posture
A good poster is so darn important in looking pretty and it is something you don’t realize yourself but others really notice it.
Although it is more comfortable to walk with dropped shoulders, it looks really bad and ruins your entire look. In the long run, it also causes back problems.
It is ideal to walk confidently with a straight back and laid back shoulders. Walking straight with a chin up and no unnecessary arm balancing instantly makes you look classy.
If you find it hard to sit and stand straight for a long time or forget it, then get yourself a posture corrector to help you.
11. Add accessories to your looks
You know what?! Accessories can transform your entire look for good. Let it be some hoop earrings, layered necklaces, a cute hat, or ring, it can add dimension to your outfit.
This gives the illusion that you put effort and time into putting your look together while it barely takes a few minutes.
12. Clean shoes
Wearing a nice pair of clean shoes is something a lot of people tend to forget. They make your outfit look more put together which in turn makes you look prettier.

Buy a few staple pieces that work for every occasion and maintain them in a good condition. Shoes have the power to make or break your look.
13. Stay active
Being active means different to everyone. It can be going to the gym, taking a little walk in nature with your dog, or doing some light workout at home.
The point is to just feel more alive and mindful. Plus taking out some time from your day to indulge in doing something you like can be very therapeutic and make you feel good about yourself.
When you feel good about yourself from the inside, it automatically shows on the outside too love.
14. Moisturize your body
Dry, flaky skin looks unpleasing and indicates that you don’t take care of yourself. Always keep your body moisturized and oiled as soon as you step out of your shower. It feels good and looks pretty to the eye.
You can use your most loved scented lotions and oils to smell good too.
But make sure to not put fragranced products on your face as it might make your skin sensitive and prone to acne.
I like using Sol de Janeiro’s Bum Bum Cream after a shower as it melts into my skin like a dream and smells divine leaving my skin super soft and plump lookking.
15. Find your style
Wearing clothes that complement your body and fit your overall appearance is like putting the last pieces of a puzzle together to look pretty. It could be anything you feel confident in or whatever looks good on you.
Wearing good-fitted clothes that you feel confident in can completely transform your aura and make you look 10X prettier.

General tips
Beauty is subjective but labels make it so hard for everyone to feel beautiful in their own skin.
Always remember that no matter what anyone says, you are really pretty and beautiful. Everyone is in their own way🤍
What might seem like an insecurity or struggle to you might be someone’s dream goal.
But whenever you involve yourself in the turtle race of comparing yourself to others, you start depreciating your own beauty, so never compare yourself to others.
Everyone has their own set of insecurities and you never know what they might be secretly struggling with. DON’T criticize or speak negatively of yourself.
Speak affirmations daily and be positive. If social media makes you feel bad about yourself, cut it off and take a break from it.
Elevate your mood by changing your surroundings a bit and get proper sleep. Nothing is more important or worth you losing your precious sleep.
Also, the most beautiful thing that you can wear is confidence. You don’t automatically wake up one day and get confident.
It takes time but it is important to take tiny steps daily to be confident. And as always
